I've had serious issues with this POS ever since I bought it. After two motor swaps and tons of new parts it's still not road worthy (or even off-road for that matter). My newest problem is a tricky one. I have the '90 302 with EFI using EEC-IV and TFI-IV. The ICM is distributor mounted. The ignition is not working properly, and the idle is erratic. I already replaced the IAC motor, TPS, Dist, ICM, coil, and all secondary ignition components. With the SPOUT connector out, the ignition base time retards as the RPM increases. If I understand correctly, the base time with the SPOUT connector out should be stationary because the PCM is no longer conditioning the PIP signal. This is the most mind boggling thing I've ever encountered. Even my mechanic says he wouldn't know where to even start looking for source of this problem (this makes me feel real uncomfortable). I've done some electical testing as it says in my haynes manual, but to no avail. If anyone has any input on how it's possible for the ignition timing to move without a SPOUT signal from the PCM please help. I'm about to junk this haunted POS and the $5,000+ I dumped into it.
