I got a 89 Taurus and I want to make it a complete street and strip car. I want a V8 in it. I was wondering the biggest possible engine that will slip right in. I am guttin the interior and everything. So street and strip only

Probably no bigger than a stroked 5.0 depending on what intake you use and whether or not it's EFI or Carb. NASCAR runs the 351 engine in their cars, but it is custom built and don't know if you can get one under the stock hood of a Taurus without one hell of a lot of work.

anything is possible when money is no object! of course the taurus has to be converted to rear wheel drive too! drag racers do it all the time with some GM models like the Olds Achieva and others to fit into a certain class in Super Stock and Competition Eliminator classes. it just takes some time and a lot of bucks is all.

Rember a Taurus is a unibody. Putting a 351 or something it would twist it like a tin can! It'a Tarus for god sakes! Look in too the older SHO's I think they were rear wheel drive. I could be wrong. If your gonna do something like that your gonna have to do a lot of renforcement of the body. Another idea is find a old 2.3 turbo from a Mustang or a T-Bird S/C. It would fit and there pretty powerful. You'll still have to switch it to rear wheel drive.

Friend of mine has a 3.8 V6 out of Mercury Sable in a Taurus wagon- or had until it punched a piston out of the block. ran good untill then though. Wasn't to hard to get it in there either.

I hear Chevy people say that they would rather push a Chevy than drive a Ford. When I think about it, this is the best reason to get a Chevy. It's like a private gym!!!
