I just purchased a 2003 Black LX and am thinking about upgrading the exaust. Be kinda weird to have this monstrous sound coming out of this car in my opinion, but it'd be so cool! Any suggestions?

I have a '04 Sport. I changed the factory dual mufflers to 18" glasspacks, had the tail pipes straightened (like the Maurader) & added 3" stainless extensions. The Sport has a resonator just behind the axle on both pipes. The sound is not loud or raspy but gives you a deep mellow sound that gets louder when you put your foot in it. Check the CV pics section to see what it looks like.

That looks real nice. Except I'll want my exhaust tips to point down just a tad. My fiance' hates glasspacks, so I don't know if that's going to work. Deep sound is what I'm looking for. What'd it end up costing to redo (with the exception of the extensions)? Thanks.

There's a mufler shop here in Chillicothe, Mo that's really reasonable. The owner is a motorcycle nut that goes by the name of Ramjet. To straighten my pipes he cut them off where they came over the axle, welded a straight piece on & created new hangers & only charged me $20.00. With duals & an X pipe the glasspacks aren't loud. I had a '99 Crown Vic without the X pipe with glass packs & after a few miles they really got loud, especially when you took your foot off the gas.
