Ok I've had this problem since I bought the car. My dad and I are trying to put the stock engine back together because the guy we bought it from had an F150 manifold in it. Yes I know that's crazy but anyways we've gotten everything on right but there's one problem. It runs and everything but it makes like a choking sound. We know the problem. I need help with where to put the vacuum lines. Can anyone help? I'm located in Killeen Texas just if you wanted to know. xD I'm also only 15.........this mustang is for me to drive when I'm 16. Don't have much time to restore it.

That is a picture of the car when we bought it and had towed it home. The thing sticking out of the hood is the F150 manifold. I don't have a pic of it as it is now. I'll try to get one soon.

I would go to your nearest parts place and pick up a manual for it. That way you can have it also for future referance incase you come across any other issues along the way. I used to be a auto tech 6 years ago but I always picked up a manual for all my vehicles, you can never know when you get a brain fart and forget how things go back together with out having to wait. other option is try pluging the 2 line with a bolt and see if the sound is still there. Another possibility is that those 2 hoses might have linked at one point and might of been cut in half. Can't realy tell with out seeing where the hoses are and where they go into.

I think you need to loose the truck manifold and put the right one on, or go with a four barrel setup. The extra vacum lines you have are probably for the stock intake. If you get a manual for the car, you still need the vacum line routing for the truck (year ect.). I don't think the truck manifold will work near as well as the factory one. The HO engine has a large plenum for better airflow, and made for that engine.

Do you still have the thermactor system on your car? Also are you sure it is the original 5.0 H.O. motor?
