Does anyone know what might be the problem with my transmission? I have a 1994 F350 with the 7.3 turbo deisel and the Auto 3 speed with OD when it's cold in the morning it shifts really hard from 1st to 2nd and sometime from 2nd to 3rd and on occasion it does the hard shift when its warmed up but not too often I have had it to 3 different Tranny shops and they all said they couldnt find anything wrong, But I have to tell ya when it shifts it's like the truck is going to tear in half.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you

Have you taken it in to a dealership and had dianostics run on it they may find the problem that way.

Yes I did take it to a ford dealership, They told me the computer diagnostic didn't read anything. they said no codes were coming up even though they took the truck for a ride and acknowledged it was shifting hard. They said bring it back when the trans is failing on a regular basis and they would be able to get a code on it then.
What I cannot fathom is that these guy's go to technical school to learn how to work on these vehicles and all they want to do is plug it in to a computer, read the data and have the problem answered for them. I'm a network Admin, If I waited for the breakdown to happen I would end up losing my job!! The diagnostic computer is an Aid to help find out what the problem is, But if it can't help you then your suppose to be knowledgable enough to work through the problem....At least that's what I thought. Heck if that's all they do, it sounds like I could do they're job without too much trouble myself, Just give me the diagnostic machine and a lift.

Sorry to run on...It just makes me mad...I had to pay for them to tell me they couldn't find the problem.
