I just bought a 2001 ranger XLT 3.0 v6 4x4 with only 33,000 miles on it.....I went though a puddle in the road and water got in through the intake and into the #3 cylinder...it misfired and bent a rod...My damn warranty won't cover it, so I have to pay my insurance deductable of $500 what the hell! I also noticed that the tranny bucks just once when you try and take off, and also just before you come to a stop....HELP!!

Are you sure that it was the water, I had a 2001 4x4 with the 4.0L V6, at 15,000 miles my engine blew while i was driving down the interstate. I bought the truck new and added a suspension lift, body lift, wheels, tires, camper shell, sound system, and winch to it before the motor blew, all in all probably added $4,000 in add ons. Lucky for me if thats what you want to call it, mine was under warranty, Ford fixed it again and again and again, the truck was never the same, i had to sue ford to get out of the truck, i won and ford had to take the truck back, I hope you have better luck than me because i know it sucks
