If it were mine I would check the start / ingition switch, as a faulty one would cause most of these problems. A quick test us ole timers use to do for a faulty ground would be , Start the car , hook the negative lead of a jumper cable to the battery ground , make sure you had a good contact---- an then take the other end of the negative jumper cable an touch it to various parts under the hood, ie the engine, the fenderwell , the raditor support etc, if you got a spark as you hooked up the cable, you had a faulty ground going to that part of the vechile, Didnt allways fix the problem but about 70% of the time I found a bad ground connection somewhere under the hood. that caused faulty starting, engine dying out , lites dim, battery not charging, etc,,,,,,,,,,,,good luck
