The front passenger power window regulator/motor of my '02 Explorer XLT (4WD, 4 dr, V6) went bad. I pulled the door panel off and saw that the cables of the regulator were disconnected and battered. Problem is that I cannot find how to remove and reinstall the regulator/motor assembly. Haynes and Chilton manuals avoided the subject entirely.
The biggest problem is the clips on the bottom of the window itself. They appear to be permanently attached & glued to the window. It seems that there are connector clips (metal pieces) that attach the window clips to the regulator. These connect to the window clips with what appears to be a rivet that may need drilled out.
As you can see, I'm going by the seat of my pants here and would like some forum expertise before I screw things up. A local auto glass company is able to make the repair but I thought I'd check in with you all first.

It will involve drilling out the rivets that connect the window to the regulator. If you feel like you're getting a good deal at the glass shop, let them do it. I've done a few of these rivets and busted a window when my drill went a bit sideways. I had my company behind me when it happened so the customer didn't have to worry about it. Neither should you. There is a chance the glass will break and if I were you, I'd let someone else take the responsibilty.
