Hi my name is Llogan. I am new to the Ford forum and was just wandering if anybody owns the Escape? If so I was just wandering if anyone would mind providing some information about it. I was just wandering what model do you own. Does it seem to be holding out pretty good? Does it seem to be a good vehicle? Do you get lots of compliments on it? What is the gas mileage on the Escape that you own? Does your vehicle have good passing power? What kind of features does your Escape provide?

I just bought my wife her second Escape. Her first was a 2003 loaded out. Kept having problems with the rear hatch door squeking. It just drove me crazy. We traded it for a 2005 loaded and she likes it a lot. Its got plenty of room, but it doesn't seem like your driving a bus. Has a really good feel on the road with power and handling. All around, its a nice SUV. She get around 23 to 24 mpg.

I bought my wife a '03 Escape for X-mas . I own a '04 CV Sport so we are a Ford family. She loves it. It has a moon roof, leather, trailer towing package,& the V/6 engine. It had just come off lease with 48,000 on the clock. With her style of driving, (speed limit or below) she's averaging around 25-26 mpg. The only complaint I have are the Continental tires & their agressive tread. It's due for service & tire rotation soon & if that doesn't help the Continental tires are history

I bought a 2005 and we liked it so much. I got another one (2003) with 4x4 and have put a lot of extra's on it. The gas millage on the 05 is about 25-27 and the 4x4 is about 3 mpg less.

The Escape is one of the excellent small SUVs included in Ford's auto line-up. The latest version comes with all new Ford parts, accessories and features both inside and out. You can check out the net for more info.

I have a 2005 escape, I found the V-6 a bit under powered & it has a bad tendency to hunt alott, meaning it will downshift when on small hills or under load.
to up the power install a Cat back exhaust from Magna flow, pull the restrictor out of the air cleaner or install a K&N to max air flow.
the air cleaner is a real restriction in these little SUV;s
you don;t have to ,but i bought a re-programmer to up my shift points & tweak the power band.
The car still gets 24-28mpg if you stay out of the gas pedal & puts out about 30-50 more hp.
It will blow off a honda, accura much to their surprise & the transmission no longer shfts relentlessly from 3rd to 4th on small grades.
One word of warning, the Escape trans is notoriously weak, change the filter & fluid every year & it will last you the life of the car.
if it didn;t come with a trans cooler, install one
