I test drove an 06 f250 crew 4x4 with everything on it. Love it. I working with a couple of fleet salesmen, the best they will do is $100 over x-plan plus the rebates. I used to hear about people buying way below invoice. Is there anything I can do or say to make these guys drop their shorts?

Even though I loved the truck, I'm worried about buying a truck that has a lousy diesel. A good friend of mine is trying to convence me to by a Dodge, he has an 03. IMO the new front ends and interior are god awful ugly. He thinks it better to buy the best engine and "who cares what the truck looks like, in a couple of years, you wont even wash it any more." The only reason why I was considering one of those mega cabs is because of all the forum I've been reading. Can't mod the 6.0, that sucks. That Cummins can handle any mod you give it(so I heard). What's the percentage of 6.0s being sold and coming back for warranty service?

Whats your opinion? Which one should I buy? After all the rebates, the Dodge cost $5000 more.

I would go with the ford unless you are wanting do do heavy mods down the road. The ford rides better and has a much nicer interior. If you do choose the ford and are wanting to do slight mods, look into www.bankspower.com There stuff works as advertised and keeps your engine well within the safe operating limits. There kits don't make the power that most of the others make, cost a bit more and take quite a bit longer to install, but they are provin to be safe and reliable. I have personally installed the banks big hoss bundle on 3 of my friends trucks and have everything they offer on my 2001 7.3L. All 4 trucks run way strong and have not had any issues. I often pull at the manufactures max limit with my buddies 2005 6.0L, maybe a bit passed there recommended limt. The truck runs very strong and is getting much better fuel milleage than it did pulling the same load when it was stock and has lower egt's. As I said, the banks stuff is pricey, but you get what you pay for. I have seen many others with the higher hp chips or programmers from the various other companies have the problems that others on here have talked about.

I work for Ford, so my opinion on the trucks may not be all that important, but I honestly cannot stand the dodge's interior. It just is not comfortable and there instrument panel looks like something from the 80's. In my opinion, the ford truck with the cummins 5.9L would be the best combo available, however the one company I knew of that actually does the swap charges $8000 to do it and I have not be able to find any current info on them so it's possible that they are not doing that any longer, therefor I will go with whatever engine the ford comes with when I get my next truck.
