These are usually pretty good.
Here's mine:
.
OK, this took place in about 1975.....
.
I was driving a 1973 Ford Maverick with my wife beside me, headed from Orange County down to my wife's sisters place in San Diego to visit. She had just moved, so we had never been there before. Got off the 5 at ( I think ) La Jolla Village Dr ( or could be Nobel Dr ) and headed east, per directions. Missed a right turn, so I looked for a place to turn around. Road went down into a gully-like area, then went up the other side of the gully, about 1/4 mile later. Pulled into the center median at the bottom of the gully to pull a U-turn. while waiting, cop goes by to my right. I notice he kinda slows down, and I get the idea he's watchin if I make (illegal?) U-turn. I'm only 23 and stupid, so I go ahead and make the U-turn anyway. Cop immediately does the same thing, but by this time he's headed up to far side of the gully. I floor it back up the west side of the road, come to the same turn I was supposed to turn on in the first place, and tires screeching (7.50x14 bias plys really stick) make the quick left. I make another quick left, then turn into an apartment complex and park in one of the stalls. After about 4 minutes, my mother-in-law in the back seat goes out to see if the coast is clear. It was. Oh, by the way, it was her car.

the first person that i could actually say "happy new year" to this year, was the cop that had just given me a speeding ticket. (80 in a 60) YUK! guess what my resolution was for this year!

i was pulled over my a guy for excessive noise, in a township where my car was not permitted due to the exhaust...it was late at night, and the cop who pulled me over was the same guy who had been involved in the previous issue, although he was pretty cool about it..he told me that he had a 68 mustang, and he was a big ford guy..i, on the other hand, was in a built chrysler product...he sort of lectured me for a minute, then walked back to the car and got in and pulled along side me...where he had pulled me over was along a stretch of 4 lane road, and there was no one out, and i had stopped in the right lane. he pulled his "police interceptor" next to me..and said through the window...im going to turn my lights off...and if you can beat me to that set of lights up there...have a good night...if not, im taking you in...the lights went off, and we both launched...and i havent talked to him since then...

Back in high sschool I was coming home from soccer practice in my 72 VW Bug. The sherriff pulled me over. Asked where I was coming from, and told me the reason he pulled me over was because a flame came out of my pipe. He was cool though, said when he was young he had a bug as well and would do the same thing. So he said to get it checked out and let me go. That was the first time I ever got pulled over, so was kinda freaked out at first.

did it backfire?

my 78 ram had a mechanical fuel pump, so when i was moving, i could turn it off, and turn it back on, and it would throw a flame several feet out the side of the truck....
