I have an '86 Ford Ranger automatic 4x4. When I put it in drive I hafta floor the accelerator just to get it to creep. The engine is good but the tran isn't.. Any Ideas? IF it's going to be expensive, I am going to sell it and see if i can get anything for it.Thanks

More than likely the seals in the trans for the pistons are hard and bypassing fluid which in turn burns up the clutches which in this case would be the forward clutches. question have you serviced the transmission lately may possibility of a restricted filter.

Hey Trucker,
Does it sound like the tranny is stuck in 3rd gear?
