I haven't had the pleasure of driving one, yet. I have been a passanger in one of them a number of times and I think they are very nice. It's a smooth and quiet ride, and they seem to have a good deal of power. I like them.

I have a 2005, extended cab FX4 with the 5.4L. Pretty much the same truck as a 2004. I like it a-lot! I had a 1998 5.4L offroad package truck a few years ago and I wouldn't even consider my 2005 to be in the same class...it's that much better all they way around! Much quieter, nicer interior, smoother ride and it is slightly better offroad. Neither will ever win any fuel millage awards, but the 2005 seems a bit better than my old 1998 with pretty much the same engine/trans. The 5.4L now has 3 valves and the trans is now called the 4R75 instead of the 4R70 they used in '98. It may have a new name, but the trans is for the most part the same. It has a slightly different pump assembly and an extra retaining clip to keep the clutch plates from moving around as much. There are a few other slight differances also, but nothing major.
