Hi,
Sooo I'm running out of options. My 2003 Focus has under 50,000 miles but my warranty is up. I recently was driving my Focus and at low speeds such as town driving or coming to a stop or parking my battery light was coming on. The engine started to sputter and it sounded like the car was losing power. I noticed however at higher speeds like highway driving the battery light went off. I went and got my battery tested. It was perfectly fine. My alternator was tested indirectly and it read about 12.65 volts and 6.2 amps. They suggested the alternator maybe bad but they couldn't guarentee their reading either way. However, someone tested the alternator directly and said the volts were at 14.95 and it was running fine. I drove the car and parked it later that day the battery light didnt come on once however, it sounded like it the engine was clicking as if it was about to stall out once i parked. I shut the car off turned it on and it stalled. I am able to start and drive it but why do i have such low power it seems at idle or near idle speeds????? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Well my daughters Focus did the same thing. Mechanic found a small red wire in the back of the Alt that was loose or frayed. Ford fixed it.
