I say diesel engine because whether the truck is fully loaded or not loaded at all you get the same milage. Gas engines uses more fuel when fully loaded and less when not loaded at all. And Diesel consumption is not affected by the environment or how many gadgets your truck has. Also Diesel gives you more power 6.0 turbo diesel with 600hp and 500 foot torque pounds or the gas engines 5.4L 302hp 345 f-t-p V-8 or 6.?L 355hp 425 ft-t-p V-10. The diesel engine will set you back between $6-8,000 depending were you live. Diesel also cost about the same as the mid grade gas. Consider the f-150 or even the f-250 light duty, they look like the f-150's but can hawl and tow more and are not quite as much as an f-250 super duty.
