pain in the short

my friend bought a 95 aspire for 100 bucks. the guy said he put a new clutch in, not sure. but he disconnected all the wiring and took the engine out to change the clutch. when he put the motor back in he didn't hook anything up so i have been trying to hook things up by where they fit and what plugin fits to what. so far it is hit or missbut when i went to hook up the battery i hooked up the positive and touched the negative and got a big spark so i moved the negative away and took the fuses out of the engine compartment one by one and checked it the only one that i couldn't get out was the main fuse but that was the only one that sparked when i hooked the battery up and i cannot get it out. what all is one that fuses? the guy is working on getting a book but it will be a mounth.

he sold me the car for 75 bucks, yeah. what kind of mileage do these cars get?

betweeni figured out how to take the 80 amp fuse out, what a dumbass the two flaps to the side, open them and loosen the 10mm bolts. as soon as i get the battery charged i will go work on it some more. i had the cooling fan plugged into the wrong connector and i disconnected the starter now to install a light between the neg post and the battery and start pulling fuses one at a time to see when the light goes out.

Keep us posted , or if you need diagrams etc..

a wiring diagram would be nice. i got most of the connections figured out but there is still to many for my taste.

Diagrams, connector views are sectional in nature.
There's no 'one image' harness view. If your having a questionable connection, post and describe the area your working in, or an image of the harness connector. Visually, should be fairly easy to figure the corresponding connection...

thanks, i will try to take pics with my cell phone. i did find out i had the cooling fan hooked up to the wrong connector now i just have a few connectors left.it sparks pretty good when i hook up the battery cables.

upon further investigation, i found the ground and the positive both hooked to the starter stud. now no more big spark. but where to hook up the ground wire and my hazard light are on and i cannot get them to shut off. but the dash lights up and so does the radio. so i am making progress slowly. i couldn't figure out why it wasn't cranking so i came inside to look at a new starter then it dawned on me duh, push in the clutch dumbass... as soon as it stops raining i will go out and try that.
