Default Escort radio

I have a '95 Escort. The radio comes on, you can scan the radio staitons, hear the tape player moving the tape, and see on the display that the volume goes up and down. However, I have no sound. You can at times hear some stadic, but that is it. I don't know if I have a facorty amp or not. Anybody have an idea on what could be wrong. Thanks for any help.

Default RE: Escort radio

Had that problem too. Its a loose wire from the speakers. At least thats what it was for me. To check it just remove the radio from the panel. and the wires are labeled as RF LF RR and LR. I would check that and hopefully that will help. They may be touching and that would cause it to not sound or static. Hope this helps
