Default Ford is shooting itself in the foot!

Ford is discontinuing the Edge and then later on the Escape. Rumor has it that the Mustang will be stopped in the next few years. Why is Ford
"shooting itself in the foot" by killing production of their best cars. For the first time in my life I have bought another brand! Toyota RAV4 now sits in our garage and I'm wondering what happened to Ford?? People will not buy EV's and Hybrids are not much better! Someone needs to wake up management at the home office. I tried to get excited about a Bronco or a Escape but the 3 cylinder motor sounds like it is coming apart. No longer a believer in Ford engines!

Ford's decision to discontinue popular models like the Edge and Escape, along with potential plans for the Mustang, may reflect a strategic shift, but it risks alienating loyal customers and losing market share to competitors like Toyota.

Family who work at the Ford plant near Lorian Ohio says many of the employees there wonder what Ford is doing. They are concerned for their future employment if Ford is on a path of self destruction. The long time E series van is going away.....a long time big seller. Don't get me wrong, I believe there is a legitimate application for an electric vehicle. Someone driving less than 50 miles a day maybe? An old person just driving to church or doing daily errands? Forcing people into a technology that is simply not working and profanely expensive is insane. Hybrids are not much better. We took a test drive and returned to the dealership ahead of schedule. I told the salesman in the back seat that I simply was not interested in an engine that shuts on and off on it's own. Ford reportedly is shutting down the production of the Edge and Escape to gear up to the new line of EV's soon to be released. I really wanted an Edge this time around, I've never owned anything but Ford. Major corporations can head down a dead end road with poor management decisions at the home office. Look at KMart, OMC (Evinrude/Johnson) and others.

New to the forum here, but I just found out about the DC of the EDGE! Very disappointed. Having issues with my coolant dropping to very low (the Ford TSB #22-2229 clearly directs techs to inspect cylinder heads of these engines for coolant intrusion. Ford has officially admitted to being aware of this issue since at least June 2022.Apr 18, 2023) IMO they need to do away with the Mustang SUV -whatever it is ridiculous looking vehicle!! I have been very happy with my 2017 Edge and it only has 98K!! I always get compliments on how well it rides and quiet it is.. Very Sad
