1993 Ford Escort 1.9L
Hello all,
Desperately need some advice. I have a overheating issue with my car. What happens is the passenger side of the radiator doesn't fill and the engine overheats. After driving in stop and go type of environment the engine heats up quickly. If I pull over and open the radiator then the radiator fills up and the engine cools of immediately. I can't figure out what is causing this. This side of the radiator is even cool to the touch until I open it up. The car heat works but does have an antifreeze type odor at times. Any suggestions?? Thanks |
This could be a bad thermostat, a bad water pump or the fluid is just low.

Kristin, I think you have to take it to a shop. There seems to be a gas bubble collecting, when you open the radiator the gas escapes and let the anitfreeze in. Maybe the head gasket lets fumes into the cooling system.
First check what go-part suggested. |
