1993 Ford Bronco With Seized Throttle Body After Only 1000 miles

About 2 months ago, I switched out the old funky throttle body with a new clean BBK throttle body. It was running great until on Monday, my gas pedal suddenly got really loose and hit the floor and I lost acceleration. I had to be towed to a local dealership. I was sure that it was just a throttle cable that needed to be replaced since the new throttle body was a little bit tougher to open up for acceleration and the throttle cable on it was an original part. I told this to the dealer but they said they would want to check it out anyways. Today I got a call telling me my throttle body had seized. How could this be and would this cause my gas pedal to lose connection to the throttle cable and get loose? Can someone tell me how a throttle body with only 1000 miles on it goes bad?

This is one of those things where it is almost impossible to offer any suggestion since we cannot see the problem and could be getting conflicting info. Would suggest you go to the shop and look for yourself. If it is defective, you might be able to get some relief from where you purchased the throttle body. If on the other hand you cannot go and verify what you are being told , we are in the same boat as you .

Not a lot of moving parts on the throttle body. Just the butterfly shaft with a return spring on one side where your throttle cable connects to. The throttle body should be adjusted so that when the butterfly(ies if dual throttle body) are in the closed position, they are just off of fully closed. It's possible they were not adjusted properly from the MFG and they stuck closed and the shaft twisted free from the cable bracket.
