Rock magnet

Anyone experience the pain of having to replace their windshield (TWICE!!) because the C-max windshield/front-end is a rock magnet?
I've added a bug shield, but it doesn't help much.

Although anything is possible, could any of the following help?

Where were you driving when the stones hit the windshield ?
Is it possible you were following too close?

Why do you think the stones have been singling out your car?

Random

It was not anything I could have avoided.
I'm very cautious about following distance, especially around certain vehicles.

I'm annoyed with it mostly because of where it hit both times - bottom left (driver), which spread to a crack.
The slope of the front-end and the windshield make me think it's not just me, or conditions.

Thanks, Hanky

OK,
Many times a stone will hit a windshield and leave a calling card, but not always a traveling crack.
What may be involved here is , there may be a protrusion under the windshield placing stress on it in that particular area, don't know. However, when conditions are right, bingo, the windshield cracks. I would suggest that the next time you have the person installing the replacement windshield be especially thorough and look for any irregular surface under the windshield that could be putting stress on the glass.Usually they just clean the mounting surface and install the windshield. They may not be aware there is a contributing factor. Worth looking into.
