Default Window Scraping noise

My driver side window makes a scraping noise that sounds like metal scraping on glass, but there are no marks on the glass. I took the door panel off and I do not see anything that is getting in the way of the glass itself. Any idea what could be the problem?

Replace the window regulator/cable/motor as an integral unit. Over time, the drivers window destroys the cable tracks and pulleys (plastic) and the cable begins to drag on metal parts, hence the grinding noise. Normally a two man job, but can be done by one person if you have an assortment of wooden blocks to support the glass which you will remove in order to replace the regulator assembly.
