97 contour-Transmission overdrive inoperative

overdrive cutoff light flashing after rpm surge going up hill. cannot get overdrive to work and light continues to flash

If the light is flashing, then there is a trouble code in the system that needs to be diagnosed at a shop/dealer to find the cause of the fault.

I don't know if you know this, some poeple don't. There is a button on the selector lever that will turn O/D on/off. Which light is flashing?

Auto Zone and several other national parts stores will check the codes for you for free
