I have a 98 contour sport with the 2.5L DOHC V-6 with 143000 on it. The issue started last week when I got a P0304 code, which is for cyl 4 misfire, I opened the hood at night while the car was running and could see the voltage going through the wire (for just the one cyl) and shorting across the engine. So I changed all the wires and plugs out. This did not fix the problem only added to it. Now I am getting codes for P0300 (multiple missfire), P0303, P0304, P0306. I changed out the coil and have ran injector cleaner through the engine, still no change. The only other thing that I can think of is that something happened to the computer when the spark plug wire was shorting across the enginge. If anyone has any suggestions or ideas that might help it wouldbe appriciated.
