Anybody have any ideas why the Contour would die in the middle of an intersection and won't start... It turns over just fine.

I am thinking clogged fuel filter, or bad fuel pump.

 

Hi,you can disconnect the MAF sensor and check to make sure you have nothing blocking the air to your engine, like a very clogged air filter. Then you can remove one spark plugs at the time , you leave the end of the cable close to the spark plug or the engine itself, you crank and you check if you have spark. Connect all you spark plug wires and put the key tothe ON position, the position right before it start when all the lights are on in the cluster. At the fuel rail you will find a little black cap on a valve, like a tire valve. Remove the cap and press the little spring into it. BE CAREFULLY! You should have pressurize fuel coming out, so might want to have safety goggles, you mouth shut and a rag around the valve. Try that, then we'll continu ahead with your result.
