how to timing belt 2.0

I have a 98 Contour 2.0 that I just bought a used engine for. I want to put a new timing belt and rear main seal in the engine before I install it. Can anyone tell me how to do the timing belt replacement and what tools I will need?

I have a '98 Contour 2.0 too. I'm not a mechanic. So this is based on what I've read and was told by a mechanic that does good work (a lot of engineers use this guy, so I think he's earned his stripes).

I had my timing belt replaced twice within 500 miles of one another. Long story - first replacement didn't go well. Anyhow, I suggest getting a timing belt kit and tensioners. This isn't all that more expensive than the belt alone. From what I've learned all these parts are usually pretty badly worn and affect the outcome of how well your new timing belt serves you. The second mechanic told me he used some special tool to properly fit the belt onto the mechanism. I understand timing the engine is a bit of a chore. Last, I would also replace the water pump. It is easy to do this while the timing belt is under repair and it's an inexpensive part.

Since this is an involved repair, don't end up like me and go through the whole process a second time unnecessarily. Or as the farmers around here say, "you don't want to lick your calf twice."
