Motor kill
 

98 mystique/contour 4cyl. While driving shortly after taking off from a stop sign, red light etc just dies. Does not miss, does not bog down, doesn't run rough, just dies. Starts right back up and goes. Doesn't do it every time you stop either. Checked alternator and that's good. Any ideas?

Would you tell us how you checked the alt?
Because it starts right up would lead me to believe you are losing power either to the ign or from it.
Can you tell us what kind of tools you have to work with as far as testing equip is concerned? No sense blowing a lot of hot air if you are unable to use it.
