1995 Crown Victoria How to get error codes?

Trying to figure out how to retrieve the error codes from this model.
Can't go to Autozone because they can only read 1996 and newer.
I remember being able to use the self test connection with a jumper wire on an old 1989 Bronco under the hood, but I can't find such connection on this CV. Would anyone be able to point me in the right direction please?

Also, it is a 4.6L V8. Check engine light didn't come on after clearing codes at idle, and no smoke from exhaust at idle. But as soon as WOT or start driving, lots of blue smoke and check engine light comes on. Smells rich to me. Tends to stop smoking once on interstate doing 60. This car didn't do this until it sat for a year. Cleaned MAF with proper cleaner. New air filter. New fuel filter. Any ideas?

Update: I have always been told that the car must be 1996 or newer. After referring to the Haynes Manual, Chapter 6 Section 2, it seems 1994 and earlier use the EEC-IV system, and 1995 and later use the EEC-V. Both of these On Board Diagnostic systems (OBD) consist of an onboard computer known as the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). My Crown Vic, 1995, shows on the drivers door jam built 8/94. Mine does NOT have the Diagnostic Connector under the hood located on the left inner fender well as shown in the manual. It does however have what appears to be an OBD type connector under the dash located just under and to the left of the ashtray area. Anyone else have 1995's and know any different?

UpdateII: Ok, so, according to Autozone, their hand held scanner/reader will NOT read codes on cars pre 1996. So, if their scanner can't read pre 96', and there is no Diagnostic Connector under the hood, the HOW does an owner of a 1995 obtain the codes???

Thank you for any advise.
