Default vic problem areas

I have a 97 vic that is in pretty good condition and I would like to keep it until "the wheels fall off", what are the typical problem areas on the vics and are there any steps to pre-empt the problems? So far I've learned that the Coolant temperature sensor can cause problems when dirty and the Multi function switches have issues. If possible I would like to use an ounce of prevention over a pound of cure.

I was told that between 130,000 and 150,000 miles if you dont flush the radiator and cooling system, that the old antifreeze can eat the head gaskets. I didnt believe him at first until it happened to me. So I stronglysuggest you doing that. the head gaskets are a humdinger to change. And the cooloing system sucks om the 4.6 anyways. and the odometerbreaks but not a big deal.
