2010 E350 instrument cluster cycles on and off
Hello All,
Problem started immediately after pulling the dash and instrument cluster off to access transmission shifter cable and replace brake-shift interlock.
Instrument cluster repeats the following sequence consistently about every 8 seconds either while vehicle is running or key is in ON position.
Vehicle continues to operate normally while driving.
Vehicle: 2010 Ford E350 Superduty cut-away bus, 170k
Sequence detail:
1. Oil Pressure/ tachometer / fuel / temp / charge / odometer / trip meter /cluster backlight - go dark, analogue gages go to zero
2. analogue gages return to normal but cluster backlight is remains off
3. All warning lights in center of cluster – light up brightly
4. Odometer - lights up brightly (headlights Off mode)
5. Warning lights in center of cluster - go off
6. Odometer/brake/airbag/ battery/ engine -remain on
7. Odometer/brake/airbag/ battery/ engine -off & on very briefly, then Trip meter lights up
8. Cluster backlight returns to normal, odometer brightness returns to normal (headlights On mode)
Time for above sequence about 4 seconds. Time to repeat about 10 seconds.
Attempted fixes:
Checked Cluster fuses, OK.
Checked cluster plug for looseness. Reassembled. Same problem.
