I have an 89 ford econoline and yesterday while driving it to a football game it just shut off. Let it sit for 5 min or so the it started up. drove about 1/4 or so then it shut off again. Let it sit started up let it idle. idled fine drove it about 1/4 mile and it shut off again. Has anyone had this problem or know what it could be?? It will turn over after it shuts off but wont start for about 5 min. right before it starts and runs it will run but really rough then stall. then it will fire up and go but not far. Please help

 

Sound's like the fuel pump may be going out on you.Or you can change the fuel filter this might help.

 

Check your coil.

 

I seen this on my friends truck and it was the control modual.
