'94 E-350 with high idle speed

HI,
I am new to this forum and this is my third Ford van I have owned.

I just recently bought this '94 E-350 Club Wagon Van with the 5.8L V8,gasoline engine.
This van has 107K miles.

I like how the van runs on the city and on the freeway but the only thing bothering me is the high idle speed . This van, like many other older cars, does not have a tachometer and can exactly tell the RPM when idle but it feels like if the van is at 1500 RPM or more when idle.

My question to you is: Is there any way I can regulate the curb idle speed?

Could it be the IAC ( idle air control valve) ?

Just afraid that if I start changing parts without really know exactly what part is not working properly, the van is not going to run well anymore and, then, I will be in worst trouble.

According to the Chilton repair manual, the idle speed is control by the computer and can not be manually adjusted, so I have come here for an advice on this matter.

Thank you.

Yes, that is true.
Something you might check would be the throttle cable from the pedal in the cab to the throttle body on the engine. They can get rusty and stick and it wouldn't hurt if you were to check and make sure it is returning to the full curb idle position. Sometimes some penetrating oil in the right place will help loosen it , if that is all that is wrong with it.
