Courtesy Light problem

i have an 03 e350.

a while back i installed a remote start alarm on the van that requires a + door trigger which i grabbed from the black/light blue right behind the headlight switch and worked until a few days ago. i found the wire that i used to get back to the alarm module was severely damaged by the parking brake and apparently shorted out wherever that wire gets +12 volts from because all it reads now is ground. the wire will still show +12 volts for 10 seconds if i use the factory remote but will never read +12 volts when ANY door is opened. If anyone has any idea or input or a wiring diagram to show what i messed up and where it is i would be appreciative.

Have you found the trouble with your courtesy light problem yet?
Do you have a copy of the owner's manual?

nope, still no solution. i also found my passenger side power door lock switch does not work, not sure if it is tied together, but the power door lock motor still works in that door.

You didn't mention the fuse in the CJB,, didn't pop on the short?

all fuses i checked under dash and under hood were not blown, like i said the light will work when you use the factory remote

On the drivers door switch, you should have 12v on the LG/YE 'hot at all times'.

If not, look again at CJB F2.14 15 amp fuse..

Door switched closed position,, you should then have voltage on the BK/LB wire.. RKE would/will supply a timed voltage on the BK/LB as well,, but if the fuse and switch prove out good, you should have 12v on the LG/YE and BK/LB (switch closed)..

Since you have no chime module and lock fuction/s, they share power distribution through the #14-15amp fuse..
