E-250 driver side low beam is dead.. Not fuse..

It's a 2002 Ford E-250 Extended van. Is there a particular weak spot in the routing of the harness wiring to look at? Each low beam light has it's own 10 amp fuse while the high beams have one 20 amp fuse if memory serves. Anyone have this problem? it occasionally works but not very often.

Thanks

Gary

If the fuse is good and the bulb is OK,then the most likely problem would be a poor ground connection for that headlight. Check the ground wires that attach to the sheet metal up front, one of them should be for the headlight in question. If all is ok carefully check the plug that the bulb plugs into.

The high beam works so I don't think a ground would be the problem...

Is there even a separate relay for each low beam? I know there is a fuse for each one.

Thanks for the answer though...

Since not all vehicles are not the same, I would suggest you check your owner's manual. It should list the relays and what they are for and usually provide a sketch of their location. If your vehicle has a relay for each individual headlamp, switch relays and see if the problem moves. If it does the relay should be replaced.
I forgot to ask if you have the same problem with both hi and low beams. If so ck grounds. if not could be poor connection somewhere or wire chafing.

Hi beams work fine. I just moved so I'm looking for the factory shop manuals in all my boxes.

I'm hoping there are relays. That would be the most likely suspect.

Thanks again... Gary

Hi Gary..

Since the right side and high beams work, takes the ground off the table. Single ground..

CJB fuse position 25-10 amp,, did you check it for 12v there boths sides, or just look for a burned fuse?

No relays in the HL system.. Tested the bulb continuity for an open? Checked for 12v at the HL connector? RD/BK wire...
