Fuel line hose, removal, from fuel rail, on a 1989 302

I am working on my 1989 302. I want to remove the" incoming line" of the high pressure hose, from the fitting very near the fuel rail. When I loosened the fuel line connection, near the rail, and pulled on the hose, I found another line, that is hard and black underneath, and looks like it is plastic!!???
1) Is this a liner?
2) How do i remove it / disconnect it, from the metal fuel rail? I want to reconnect it, to the fuel rail, later.
This hard black, plastic like tube, that is inside the rubber hose, extends all the way to the ' line connection', that requires those U shaped 'keepers' that we find on the fuel line at the fuel pump and diverter valve.

The rubber is likely a protective covering as the fuel lines are plastic.Prior to disassembly, locate the shrader valve on the fuel rail and push on the pin to bleed the pressure from the fuel system. Do this on a cold engine as some fuel will squirt out the valve. To disconnect, remove the plastic U shaped retainer with a small screw driver. Once the retainer is removed, you can separate the joint. You might have to work it back and forth as you gently pull it apart. You will have to purchase new plastic retainers when you put it all back together as these are not meant to be reused.

I discovered the fuel line 'separation points' require the use of the special tool to release the tension caused by the coiled spring at the separation point, my first time to experience and use that tool! So now the line is apart.
