idle problems
 

hello, I have 1997 e-350 van with v10 motor .the truck had set for awhile and when I started it up idled ok for a few minutes then shut down .I pulled air cleaner and varmints had chewed air cleaner .I removed filter and tried to start it but it will not idle it just goes full throttle. my question is does it have to have an air cleaner for sensors to work properly or could some material have gotten in engine an caused this . Sorry for long post just wanted to give as much info as possible. Thanks Mike

I would check the MAF sensor and do a cleaning of the throttle body along with the IAC. Nest junk could have been sucked in to contaiminate everything.
