Replace front shocks on my '83
 

I have an 83 Econoline powering my Class C, RV. How are the FRONT shocks unbolted at the TOP mounting plate? I just don't see any way to get a socket onto the nut, or even space to use an open end wrench. The nut seems non accessible, even to touching it with my fingers on the driver's side. Does the body need to be unbolted, and lifted to give access to the nut? I am really frustrated doing this shock swap out.
