Default 2010 E450 v10 Triton Exposed Intake Gasket

New 2010 E450 for Class C motor Home - I opened the inside engine cover and the rear right side gasket is exposed - looks like the intake header does not match the engine block. Pictures are taken from the inside with the engine cover removed. This is the right rear cylinder when facing forward.

The Local Ford dealer responded to an email with:
THIS IS A NORMAL CHARACTERISTIC

Does anyone have any experience with this? It just looks wrong to have a gasket exposed. I have no other confirmation than an email. Engine appears to run correctly.
