Where to find a certain tool

Hey, I'm new to this forum and searching for answers. I have an old 78 Ford E350 one ton that's on a motor home. I need to replace the pinion seal on the rear end. The pinion nut is a 1 5/16 six point. When I tried the socket I had, the yoke was narrow and tapered in such a way so that the socket would not fit on the nut. It appears I would need a nose down socket to get by this taper. I can't find one as yet that is made like I need. Anyone have any remedy, suggestions, or can tell me just how to get this done? Thanks for reading my very first post.

I have on here in my home/shop that I narrowed.

A 6 point socket (or impact) usually has thicker socket side walls. A 12 point tends to run thinner. You can take a bench grinder or an angle grinder on a 12pt. and 'rotate and cut' about 3/4 inch back thinning the wall thickness. Not too much, but enough to get the socket to pass the yoke ID without weakening the socket..
