2007 Edge less than 20,000 miles

Help please, so we know what to expect tomorrow when we go to a dealership. We are on vacation hundreds of miles from home dealership. We have less than 20,000 miles on our 2007 Edge. Yesterday when my husband pulled into traffic the vehicle sluggishly went forward enough for us to get off the highway. When he put it in PARK, the guages said we were doing 19MPH, and it was adding mileage to the odometer. We were sitting still in park. He got out and checked the transmission fluid, it was normal. He put it in drive and it would hardly move forward at all and showed no MPG's and was not adding mileage. Again he put it in park and it said we were doing 18-20mph and started adding mileage again. He turned car off, at this time. When he restarted the Edge everything went back to normal. Today everything was normal again. We are taking it to the nearest Ford Dealership tomorrow (Monday). Anyone have this problem or know what it could be? Like I said we are far from home and are afraid to get on the interstate. Thank you for any input.

They Say

The Edge goes in the shop tomorrow (tuesday). Two dealerships have said it is a sensor in the transmission, and should take half a day to replace. One of the dealerships said when it happen to someone else, their speed ran up to 115mph, while in park. He really racked up the miles. Guess our 19mph was not so bad. So if anyone else has this problem, get it checked right away, before the sensor goes out completely. Ours still covered by warranty.

2007 Edge Under 12000 miles transmission problem

My Edge has been fine. Had it 2 1/4years. Yesterday, after running errands, came back to the house. Ran in. Ran out to go shopping. Drove forward a few feet, the car would not move. Put it in reverse, the car would not move. Put it in park, then drive-would not move. Put it in reverse-was able to back up. Parked it called tow truck. Dealership says they drove it-nothing wrong. Nothing showing on diagnostics. They are keeping it a few more hours to drive it and see if it still has the problem. Anyone else experinece this? Thanks
