2013 SEL Edge: Can BLIS be added later?
 

Hey folks. The dealer was able to find me an SEL Edge that has almost everything on my wish list except for the vision package. Does anyone know if the blind spot system can be added later?

I picked up a used F-150 and its missing BLIS. I was hoping you could get this added at Ford or a third party. I haven't found and answer yet.

I doubt it. You have to install radar inside your rear fenders, and integrate the notification system into your dashboard. This involves several computers in between.

It isn’t a ‘plug’n play’ option.
I looked into adding power extend/fold mirrors to a late F250. Possible, yes, but cost was outta the park for the owner..

cartoys here in Dallas can add that. They install detectors on your bumper and you get an audible sound in the cabin. You should contact an accessories shop near you.

Not quite the same,, you don’t get the visual mirror indication
