We have a 2018 ford edge that sat for some time.

When we replaced the battery, it starts with no problem, but as soon as you start the car, it immediately would say car is over heating and seems to be stuck in limp mode. It will not go above 35mph

We were able to get it to a mechanic, but he said he wasn't able to help because it needed to have to computer reset?

Has anyone had this happen and can anyone point me in the right direction as to why it is doing this or how to reset the computer?
