Coolant temp too high warning light and at the same time...
So I did a head gasket job on the 2.0 ecoboost.
In the process of doing the head gasket i replaced the thermostat, and the thermostat valve that has the coolant temp sensor on it, so the sensor is brand new as well. I have it running. It runs nice, however the warning light comes on even when the engine is cold (left off for many hours.) But also if you go into the "information menu" on the dash and go to the engine temp gauge it shows the temp at cold (0) and it also does not move no matter how long it runs. ANy chance anyone has run into this issue before? |
Can we ask where you obtained the parts?

I am not sure. My sister ordered them on AMazon i think. They came in condition of "new".

Sometime if all the air is not allowed to get out when filling the cooling system, this can happen.
You might try to open a hose connection at the top of the engine to permit any trapped air to exit. |
Solved....It was the brand new temp sensor that was bad...I was really trying to not have to do it, but I did, and the problem is solved.
Thanks for the help!! |
Thank you for the update.
