Default 2003 Escape occasionally won't start

My 2003 Ford Escape occasionally won't start. This has happened 2 times in the last 2 months. When I turn on the ignition all the lights come on so it's not the battery. When the engine starts to crank it won't engage and keep running. I've had it towed to the mechanic and they can't get it to fail. All dianostics come back negative. This is really getting frustrating as I don't know the next time it's going to fail. Any ideas what might be causing this?

I've had the same issue with my 2002 Escape, 4 different times since May. My mechanic has not been able to find a problem either. Last time, I just let it sit overnight and it cranked up fine the next morning. As you said, it is frustrating, cause you never know when you're going to be stranding somewhere because it won't crank. Anybody have helpful suggestions?

I know this thread is really old but did you get a resolution? I have a 2003 that hasn't started twice in the past 2 months. Mechanic says it might be the fuel pump but $1000 to fix and no guarantees.

??

The Ford Fiesta is a super mini car built by Ford Europe, a subordinate of Ford Motor Company. The Fiesta was created in the early 1970s when the Europeans demand for super minis was fast rising. At that time, Ford needed a small car to compete in this rising market. The car’s name Fiesta was owned by General Motors at the time, but to an unknown reason they have given it to Ford. Then the new Ford Fiesta was unleashed in late 1975.

Is this somehow related to the 2003 Escape?
