Default 2004 Escape

I have a 2004 ford escape with 224,000 miles. It has been well maintained and has been flawless to this point. It was missing and taken in for plugs, fuel system flush, new fuel pump, mass air flow. Now it gives check engine light and misses and stutters going from 2nd to 3rd gear. Mechanic says coil packs are worn but feels like a fuel feed thing. Any ideas?

Hi, just to make sure. You mentionned that it was missing before you brought it int to the garage? Any check engine light before? What is the code for your check engine? If your mechanics is telling that the coil packs are worn, why he didn't tell you before reassembling everything? Because you have to remove the upper intake to get to the rear spark plugs/coil packs, if are talking about a V6 engine.

Nic.
