2006 Escape rpms dropping when a/c on

2006 Escape rpms dropping when a/c on
My 2006 Escape has been losing rpms when I have the brake on and the a/c running at full blast. It won't stall but it drops from 800 to around 500rpms. It does not do this if the a/c if off.
Does anyone know what could be causing this?
