Default 2010 Xlt Escape - Dimming Rearview mirror

Should the rearview mirror have a dimming button or is it automatic? I find it hard to see out of it at night, and there is no switch to flip. Anyone else have this problem?

It's probably the auto-dimming on the XLT. I hate them... but I don't think there's any way to undo it short of replacing the mirror.
