2012 ford escape 2.5l wiring
 

I took out a 2.5l vin 7 (8th digit) engine from a 2012 ford escape xlt and dropped in a 2.5l vin A (8th digit) engine from a ford fusion. Putting the wiring harness back on, everything went on fine except the connector for variable timing solenoid doesnt fit. The fusion engine has a different timing solenoid. Am I able to just buy the right connector and splice the wires on the escape wiring harness and add in the new connector.

Even if you get everything hooked up, there are differences between the engines and vehicles and it might all work and maybe not.

Newer vehicles have different operating parameters and there are many that are different among models.

The PCMs get the same ID info, but the details of the info can be different and it might work and maybe not.
