2013 Escape Titanium with 2.0L ecoboost AWD
Has anyone had problems with their Escape idoling very rough at stops and not wanting to move in reverse while backing up on an incline? We've replaced the turbo twice within less than a year and now we're having these new issues. The dealer ran the codes and said a low fuel pressure sensor needed replacement so we did that but we're still having the issues. We have a little over 130,000 miles on the car. |
There are times when you need to tell the vehicle's computer the repair has been done and to disregard the old settings. This could be why you see no change.
If you remove the negative battery cable from the battery post and hold it against the positive cable terminal for 5 min then reconnect it , sometimes it gets rid of the old problem. A side note, when you do this you will lose the radio, seat, mirror etc settings and the vehicle will need to idle for a few minutes on start up without touching the throttle pedal to allow relearning certain parameters. Then of course you will need to reset the radio stations, mirror positions etc. If, this is the cause, it will work, if not , regular troubleshooting procedures will need to be performed. |
Thanks for your response. The mechanic who did the repair said he was going to reset the code so I'm assuming he did but I'll check with him again to be sure. |
