2013 Ford Escape no crank no start
So, I’m just gonna start this off saying I’m a dodge guy, I know absolutely nothing about fords, I did own a 95 f350 a little while back, but other then that, I’ve only owned dodges, and specialize in diesel trucks and vehicles rather then gas vehicles
my girlfriends car is having some issues, when she goes to start it, it doesn’t start sometimes, she has her foot on the break while pushing the button to start it, and it just clicks, almost as if she didn’t have her foot on the break at all, when I tried to get it to do it to me, it just started normally, the ford dealership she got it from said there was nothing wrong with it, when there obviously is is there a break safety switch that may have some wires that are shorted out? Like I said earlier I know more about dodges then fords, and specialize in diesels rather then gas vehicles |
I would believe if the problem was related to a safety switch, you wouldn't even get a click out of it. Myself, I would begin with connections off the battery.Remove and clean the battery cables, terminals, engine ground and starting relay/solenoid. Rule those out first. A battery won't be intermittent like that.

alright, I ran a battery test on it and it came back fine, it doesn’t have any codes or anything, only reason I was thinking it was a safety switch or something was because it has recently been in the shop because the flex plate “exploded” (but that’s a story for a different time lol) and maybe when the dealership was working on it they forgot to plug something in or the wires got frayed and are shorting |

Anything is possible. If you didn't have this problem before the recent shop work, you may want to have them take a look at it. Maybe something got damaged during the repair.
see we took it back to them, and they said nothing was wrong with it, I’ll see if I can get it on video tonight |
Alright, update, I was able to get it not wanting to start on camera last night, dealership is taking a look at it again today
